Website and email hosting
Domain registration is part of our standard service and, unlike some internet service providers, we register the domain of your choice (if availabe) in your name.
Website hosting is provided on our 100mb/s connected quad-core Xeon powered
servers. For immediate protection against malfunction of the disks, the server
uses raid-1 (two disks mirroring each other)
We run a backup of the system which operates once a day (at 01:30). You can ask
for a restore of your site from the previous backup at any time.
email hosting is on a Client administered, unlimited mailbox basis. There are
generous space allocations. Spam filtering is carried out on the server at a
rudimentary level free of charge. This means your mailbox will not even receive
certain types of spam emails and in our experience this cuts out 80% of
undesirable spam.
We have a chargeable option to add further filters to cut spam by using external
lists of known originators of spam.
If you register more than one domain, you can administer them collectively so
that, for example, email to eric@nickynackynoo.com and
eric@nickynackynoo.co.uk are collected from one mailbox.
Our servers are maintained by WebFusion (danhost) in the UK and offer 24/7 100Mb/s connections to the internet. There are no extra throughput charges but we do operate a "reasonable use" policy on traffic. You can download our T&Cs here
